     CIVIL DESIGN ENGINEER (REF- PE/001)       
                                 
The Engineering Department (PE) NLNG requires a Civil Design Engineer to work on Bonny Island.

The Job
This is a 3rd Party Contract Staff Position.


Purpose
   To ensure civil design activities for projects are executed in a safe way and in accordance with agreed design and engineering practices.
 

Duties & Responsibilities:
 The successful candidate would amongst others ensure the following:

   Responsible for developing conceptual designs and preparation of Basic Engineering and Design Package (BDEP), which involves preparation of deliverables as : Basic Design Calculations, Work Scope Definition, Project Specifications, Preliminary Design Drawings, Descriptive Bill of Quantities, etc.
   Responsible for carrying out engineering, design, detailing and preparation of Material Take Off (MTO) for projects.
   Offering guidance and support to external design contractors to facilitate achievement of fit-for-purpose civil designs and compliance to applicable standards and specifications
   Reviewing design and engineering packages from external contractors.
   Offering professional support to the in-house project engineers.
   Maintaining proper filling system for the assigned projects.

Qualifications and experience required:

•   B.Sc in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum of 2nd class lower)
•   5 – 7 years post graduation experience, 3 years of which should be in design of specialized Civil/Structural Engineering projects such as bridges, embankments, thermal insulation.
•   Experience with the preparation of structural drawings for steel end reinforced structures using software applications such as AutoCAD, STAAD.pro 2007, 3D studio MAX, GTXRasterCAD, etc
•   Not more than 40 years of Age.
